4 Days Green & Active Tanzania Safari
Discover Northern Tanzania the alternative way using some less-polluting forms of transport. We offer an alternative safari package that will see you burning lots of your energy rather than lots of diesel. You do not need to be extremely fit and active to take part in this safari as we will always go at your pace, however fast or slow that might be!
Day 0: Arusha
Arrival in Tanzania, Kilimanjaro International Airport/Arusha Airport, meet and greet with Restoration’s driver/guide. You will be driven to your accommodation in Tulia Hotel: BB

Day 1: Arusha National Park
After breakfast, you will be driven to Arusha National Park, accompanied by an armed ranger, you will spend the morning taking a walking safari which will see you climbing up to Miriakamba Camp, the first camp on the way to the summit to Mt Meru,’ the second highest mountain in Tanzania’ From here you will get magnificent views of Mt. Kilimanjaro. You will enjoy your lunch at this viewpoint, you will descend back down the mountain. Enjoy the game drives in Arusha National park. This park is famous for its rare black and white colobus monkeys. Also, elephants, buffalo, and leopards may see Hartlaub’s turaco, White Fronted Bee Eaters, Fiscal Shrike, Tropical Boubou, and variable sunbirds. Drive on to the Momella Lakes. Here you will change your mode of transport to kayaks and, accompanied by your professional guide, you will explore the lakes and get great views of wildlife. You will then return to Tulia Hotel for dinner and overnight and some much-needed rest: Breakfast Lunch Dinner
Day 2: Lake Duluti to West Kilimanjaro
After breakfast, you will start driving to the next adventure. Your next mode of transport is bicycles, and you will spend a half-day exploring the area around Lake Duluti using pedal-power. We will stop for a delicious hot lunch at one of the coffee farms in the area where you can also get a chance to see the coffee production process. In the afternoon we will drive you to your next destination, a private ranch in West Kilimanjaro. This area is a unique success story of land and wildlife rehabilitation and it offers an exclusive opportunity to see wildlife up close and personal. You will arrive in time to have a sundowner from the tree house overlooking the waterhole where much of the wildlife gathers. Your accommodation for this night will be here in Kambi ya Tembo: B L D
Day 3: West Kilimanjaro to Marangu
You will spend the full day taking a walking safari to see some of the natural wonders of Tanzania up close. While you are walking you may assist your guide to conduct a wildlife census which will help in the conservation of this area and its species. You also have the option of visiting a Maasai Boma to learn more about the lives of the local people. After all these activities, you will then be driven to Marangu - the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro ‘the highest mountain in Africa’ in your accommodation in Marangu Resort to relax and unwind: B L D
Day 4: Base of Mt. Kilimanjaro to Arusha
After breakfast, you will spend the morning helping to plant some trees which will be used to reforest Mt Kilimanjaro, which is an important water catchment area. You will then enjoy a half day of gentle walking on the lower slopes of Africa’s highest mountain, hike up to Marangu waterfalls for a great view, picnic lunch before transferring back to Arusha.
